My work explores the relationship between celestial formation and the consumption of energy. I often see this process mirrored within the human condition. The endless need to consume and propagate has bled into every aspect of society. This foundation is absolutely fundamental to our systems of government, economics and social psychology. I was inspired by a quote from famous physicist Professor Brian Cox, “We are the cosmos made conscious and life is the means by which the universe understands itself.” This is especially significant due to late stage capitalism creating a set of circumstances that will mean the end of humanity itself. Utilising soundscape, music and visual projection the viewer is left with an insight into just how interchangeable stellar phenomena and life on earth is. In it’s structure, purpose and language it speaks to us.
